Privacy Policy

The Service has two kinds of users: shop owners, who create an account to list their business, and shoppers, who browse shops and deals. This policy applies to both.

Account information (shop owners)

To create and manage a shop-owner account, we collect your email address and a password (or we send a one-time sign-in link to your email). Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.

Business content you provide

When you set up a shop, you provide business details such as your business name, category, description, address, and the photos, catalog items, prices, and coupons you choose to publish. This content is intended to be shown publicly in the marketplace.

Photos

If you upload photos, the app asks permission to access your photo library or camera. We only use photos you select to display your business and catalog. The app does not record audio or video.

Location (shoppers)

If you use the “sort by nearest” feature, the app asks for your device location and uses it to calculate the distance to nearby shops. Your location is used to return and order results and is not used to track you or build an advertising profile.

Usage information

We collect basic activity related to shops and deals — such as store views, deal views, saves, and shares — so shop owners can see how their listings are performing. Our hosting providers may also collect standard technical logs (such as device type and IP address) to keep the Service secure and reliable.

• To provide and operate the marketplace and shop-owner tools.
• To display business listings, catalogs, and deals to shoppers.
• To show shoppers shops near them when they opt in to location.
• To give shop owners performance insights about their listings.
• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to serve third-party targeted advertising.

Business listings, catalog items, and coupons are public by design — shoppers can view and share them (for example, sending a store or deal link to a friend). Do not publish anything in your listing that you do not want to be public. We share personal information with service providers only as described below.

• Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage for the Service.
• Vercel — hosting for the Shopahaul website.
• Expo — build and delivery tooling for the mobile app.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution of the mobile app.

These providers process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices.

We keep account and business information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove your personal information, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

• You can edit or delete your business listings, catalog items, and coupons at any time from your dashboard.
• You can turn location access on or off in your device settings; the app works without it (you just won’t get the “nearest” sort).
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Shopahaul is a general-audience service for people running or shopping at local businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
